Who's Not Going

Aww..this was a dirty little trick wasn't it? For all you faithful followers, all six of you, who got notification of an update, you may have thought we embarked on our journey a little early. But, instead you find a picture of The Grandchildren. I couldn't help but sneak a picture in of what we're going to be missing for three whole weeks! Audrey and Henry might be reading and walking by the time we get home since they are such smart, alert children. (tongue firmly inplanted in cheek.) But more likely, they will just each be a little more suntanned and a little bigger.

Who's Going

Here we are: the travelers. Each of us has something we're interested in seeing along our route. Dave is looking forward to just being in South, as he's never been in any of the Southern states, except Virginia. Brooke is looking forward to seeing the Pennsylvania Amish country. It's been a dream of hers for a long time to visit there. I can't wait to see New Orleans and ride one of the famous Streetcars! I am also looking forward to driving through Kentucky, as I've always heard it's a beautiful state.

Our Airstream Adventure

What crazy people would decide to do a tour of the South in July except us? Maybe we'll have the Southern states to ourselves. Our plan is to leave Friday evening, July 2nd, drive to Texas, stop in for a night and say Hello to my family. When we leave Texas and head for Louisiana and Mississippi, we will be officially on our Southern tour. I think I am prepared for hot and humid conditions. My brain knows what that is, as I spent the first 20 years of my life living in humidity. Whether I am really prepared, I don't know. I will let you know in 2 weeks. For now, I am packing and getting ready for a 3 week road trip.
